Melissa Skelton has been elected the first woman bishop of the Diocese of New Westminster and the first diocesan bishop in the province of BC succeeding Bishop Michael Ingham who retired last August after 20 years as the spiritual leader of Anglicans in this diocese.

The Ordination and Installation of Canon Skelton as the 9th Bishop of the Diocese of New Westminster took place on St. David’s Day, Saturday March 1st.

Skelton is former Canon for Congregational Development/Leadership and Rector, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Seattle.
