A group of travelers heading to Kelowna got more than they bargained for late Friday afternoon when their bus was forced to swerve away from oncoming traffic and ended up in the ditch.
The incident happened north of Princeton on near Allison Lake. No one was injured in the crash, but it was a long wait for help because the accident occurred in an area without cell service.
A semi truck slid into bus lane on Hwy 5a and the driver had to swerve out of the way about 5pm.
The bus ended up in the ditch, laying partially on its side. The door to the passenger side was jammed shut. Everyone was stuck inside until help arrived.
Two hours later emergency personnel arrive and they had to cut out the windows and build a ramp for passengers to get out.
They were six hours late in arriving at Kelowna.
