RCMP now confirm this robbery and say video tape evidence is being reviewed in an effort to identify the criminals.

Reports indicate two men forced their way into the main lobby of the Spirit Ridge Resort lobby, pepper sprayed the night watchman and then took an ATM machine out of the building on a dolly. The incident at about 4 o’clock Friday morning.

The watchman had to retreat to the outside for air and could not see a vehicle or how the men departed. The ATM machine was found later some distance away. Not known how much money was taken.

“Still have very limited details to release at this point but I can confirm we are investigating the theft of an ATM machine from Spirit Ridge and have obtained video surveillance which shows two suspects enter the lobby through the front doors. We are currently working on identifying those involved.”
