On February 18, 2014 at ~ 06:37 Hours the Oliver RCMP received a report of a single vehicle motor vehicle accident, South of Oliver, in the vicinity of Highway 97 and Road 7. Attendance confirmed that a red 1/2 tonne pick up truck, belonging to a 38 year old male Oliver resident, was South bound on Highway 97 and appeared to have lost control on the sharp curve, possibly due to black ice. The result was that the vehicle crossed the road and ultimately ran into a Hydro Pole. Fortis attended in order to replace the pole. EHS attended to confirm that the single occupant and driver had not received any injuries. Minor traffic delays were experienced due to this incident.
Picture indicates that car hit pole north of the corner – so no turning on sharp curve involved. Pole on east side of Hwy 97 – Publisher
