Art at the Olympics
It makes me proud to be Canadian when I see the sportsmanship the Canadian athletes have displayed at The Olympic Games, not to mention the medals. Magically the games have been beamed into our living rooms in real time! The most amazing spectacles, the costumes, the performers, the quality of the actual competition, visually better than being there, we all go WOW! And how is this done? We don’t ask.
Thousands of skilled artist!
Artist from all mediums and with a diverse set of technical skills who have followed their dreams and have succeeded to the Olympics. From the logo for the business card to the final extravaganza, these tasks are done by working artist!
We have some amazing local talent in our area. Starting very young, Marina Robertson (above) and Maya Berg (below) have paintings in Sochi at the Children’s International Friendship Olympic Art Show!
This Saturday the local artist are very busy! The Quails Nest on Airport Rd starts art classes for Veteran’s and Families in the morning and then will be open to artist and visitors 12 – 4 pm, come down and talk about art, create some! The Painted Chair, is having a grand reopening in their expanded space, check out the upscaled painted chairs. The Oliver Art Gallery open for business all day, enjoy the kids art! Kindrie Grove is having an opening at the Osoyoos Art Gallery, 2-4 in Osoyoos, beautiful animals in oils, wish I could be there! Now after all that gallery hoping treat yourself to some bling at Beyond Bliss. Enjoy the creativity of the area! Every artist needs an audience!
