The lieutenant-governor answered questions from students about her position and told them the importance of civil government and what that brings – discussion and voting versus authoritarian governance.
Guichon emphasized the importance of agriculture (her background as a rancher) and a new water act that will be enacted this year. She said as an official duty she will give’ her nod’ to such legislation.
She stressed the importance of education but in answering a question said it was her opinion that the voting age should not change. The Lt. Governor asked for students to think about involving themselves in their community and learning more about what local government is doing.
Students and staff gave her a wonderful response.
