In a letter tabled at the RDOS from the BC Utilities Commission it is self evident that no relief will come swiftly for people in the South Okanagan Similkameen who think they are being beaten up by the power company.
Linda Larson MLA read the letter which states the BCUC “is satisfied that results of the Residential Conservation Rate indicate that conservation and customer impact is consistent with the forecasts and is achieving its intended results.”
Another report from FortisBC is expected to go the BC Utility Commission in November.
Fortis people were peppered with question today at an RDOS meeting and directors were advised to have all complaints investigated by turning over the information to Fortis.
FortisBC says the system is running as revenue neutral – any adjustments to help some would result in others having to pay more. The solution in the long run is access to gas as cheaper way of heating.
On Smart Meters – installation will begin in the spring and be finished by the end of 2015.
