RCMP – We have to consider that this is a fairly high traffic area. Even though it is basically the middle of the night it is within a block of Cadillac Lounge and the 7-11 on Highway 33. We believe there may be people out there that saw something, no matter how insignificant. We are requesting they contact police through the RCMP tip line.”
Christopher Ausman, 32, of Kelowna was found deceased lying on the pavement in the 100 block of Highway 33 West early Saturday morning.
The death is a possible homicide with the Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Unit is investigating. An autopsy will confirm the cause of death. No mention of a gun, bullets or stab wounds by police.
RCMP says the public’s help is needed to figure out what exactly happened in the time leading up to Ausman’s death, investigators looking to the public for help in determining the final moments of his life.
Family and friends have set up a memorial page on Facebook. Ausman has a young daughter and was a former resident of Cranbrook.
He is being described throughout social media as a devoted father, a loyal friend and an outgoing person.
