I would like to put this CRY OUT FOR MORE VOLUNTEERS in OUR community of Oliver.

I am sure that a lot of people do not know just how much of YOUR town survives by volunteer work. Childrens lives are saved and some made better by the money raised and distributed by volunteers. Service Clubs do that Oliver Lions/Lioness, Oliver Elks Lodge and Royal Purple, Oliver Kawanis, Rotory, Knights of Columbus, Legion #97, Senior Centre, Highway to Healing, Parks & Rec. then there is the Eastern Star, Womans Institute,  Gleaners, Desert Sun Counsilling, Red Cross, Hospital Auxilary Thrift Store, Crisis Support Group, Search and Rescue, PAC at the Schools, Air Cadets, Boys and Girls Club, Cubs and Scouts, Firefighters, Hospital, Nursing Homes, the Library, Meals on Wheels, Cancer Car, Festival of the Grapes, the Ironman, Muffin Program and lunches in schools, Xmas Light Up, Sports Coaches, Purina Walk for Dog Guides. Free public skating at the Arena. I am sure there are more volunteers and things they do and I apologize for anyone I missed.

Volunteers are needed in this Town, 4-5 hours a month will help any of these worth while places. Please contact any of these places and I am sure they will be glad to help you out. Thank you for your time.

Show me a person who spends endless hours in training without pay,
And, I’ll show you a volunteer.

Show me a person where a cry for help brings split-second dispatch,
And, I’ll show you a volunteer.

Show me a person who is devastated when lives are lost or maimed,
And, I’ll show you a volunteer.

Show me a person who is graciously welcomed as a next-door neighbor,
And, I’ll show you a volunteer.

Show me a person who often takes more ridicule than complaints,
And, I’ll show you a volunteer.

Show me a person whose car is garaged with the grille facing out,
And, I’ll show you a volunteer.

Show me a person who sacrifices home life, TV … even tender moments,
And, I’ll show you a volunteer.

Show me a person visibly moved at the strains of our National Anthem,
And, I’ll show you a volunteer.

Show me a person who may be asked to give more than just dedication,
And, I’ll show you a volunteer.

Show me a person who is asked to give more … and more … and more,
And, I’ll show you a volunteer.
