Town council will today debate a number of issues involving dogs.
#1 – a bylaw exists stating that no more than two dogs can be housed in a residence – no matter how many owners involved – council will receive a second request for relief on this bylaw.
#2 – a bylaw exists that controls dogs off leash on parks. The Oliver Parks and Recreation Society has asked that the bylaw be changed allowing the society to control what does happen on its fields. That would mean no more off leash on wide open parks but allow flexibility in a secure fenced yard on diamonds 4 and 5.
Both concepts are contentious and decisions have not been made.
Poll to the right deals with the question posed only
Should dog owners have off-leash privileges in “open parks”?
