South Okanagan Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Award Nominees
The Board of Directors of the South Okanagan Chamber, along with Eastlink our corporate sponsors, wish to congratulate each and every one of the Business Excellence Award nominees. The awards are accessible to all businesses and open to the general public to attend. The objective of the awards is to help celebrate and honour local businesses in our region.
There are three categories of the awards, Small Business (1-6 employees including owners) Large Business (7 + employees including owners) and Entrepreneur of the Year.
Here is just a little of what has been said about the nominees.
Entrepreneur of the Year:
Scott Linttell of Linttell Projects, “Scott demonstrates the leadership of a committed and hard-working individual driven by passion, and total commitment to service and excellence.”
Jack Bennest of Oliver Daily News, “Jack’s news blog has had a meteoric rise in readership, fostered strong community ties and added democracy to the media in our region.”
Len McLean – HW McLean Construction, “HW McLean is a business that walks the walk when it comes to giving back to the community. Len is the perfect example of an involved and integral community leader.”
Small Business Award:
Amos Realty, “Their motto is, when asked the only advice they give is the same they give to their family, because their clients become part of the family.”
Sarson’s Mechanical, “Over the years Sarson’s Mechanical Services has gone above and beyond the call of duty to help neighbors, including the Royal Canadian Legion, Seniors Centre, the businesses of Okanagan Falls and regular households.”
Lakeside Travel, “Deb and Mel McCallum share their love of travel with anyone who would let them! Experienced travellers themselves they bring to advise their clients on everything from visitor visas, booking insurance and travel & medical insurance.”
Osoyoos Coyotes, “ The Coyotes are important to the South Okanagan Minor Hockey Association in that they encourages young players to aspire to further develop their skills, provides role models for young athletes and supports local minor hockey initiatives.”
Large Business Award:
Oliver Chronicle/Osoyoos Times, “Both papers support every event in their respective communities from sponsorship to advertising. They are community newspapers who have reverted back to old school journalism and palm pressing presence.”
Osoyoos Home Hardware, “ If you enjoy doing business the old-fashion way with staff who truly care about your needs, then you will be pleasantly surprised by the service and selection available at Osoyoos Home Hardware.”
Jo Jo’s Café, “The team serves up great food and coffee, with terrific service seven days a week.”
Sun Valley Dental Centre – Dr. Jason Bartsch, “Dr. Bartsch and the exemplary team at Sun Valley Dental are some of the most compassionate and capable professionals in dentistry you’ll find anywhere.
