This Saturday and Sunday, January 11th and 12th, Oliver Curling club is hosting the Provincial Zone 2 playdowns for Juvenile (16 and under) curlers. There will be 5 boys’ teams and 4 girls’ teams from the Kamloops/Okanagan/Princeton zone competing at the Eastlink Curling Center. Spectators are welcome and admission is free. Come and cheer on curlers who could be representing BC at the Brier or Tournament of Hearts in 2024, or possibly the Winter Olympics in 2026. You could perhaps be saying ‘I knew them when,,,,’. One of the coaches (for the Vernon Girls’ team) is Jim Cotter, who competed in early December for a chance to represent Canada at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, losing out in the final game to the Brad Jacobs rink from Thunder Bay.
