Actually Travis Turner has an interesting story about being born in Oliver. Here is what he says.
“I actually was only born in Oliver as my parents were visiting my Aunt and Uncle who still live there. Donna and Dave Koenig. Donna works at the hospital in Oliver and Dave built and designs log homes.
In Penticton, I went to Snowden Elementary, Kettle Valley Middle School/Skaha Lake Middle School, and Pen High. I lived in the Okanagan until I finished grade 9.
My Dad, Danny Turner, was an ironworker who often worked out of town. He passed away in Thailand during my first semester at film school in Vancouver. He still lives strongly in our hearts. He was always very supportive of my dreams and got me my first agent when I was a kid. He also drove me to my first class at Langara College and we will always miss him. I knew when he passed away there was no looking back and success was the only option.
My mom Susie Turner is an angel. She still proudly waitresses at The Bears Den in Penticton. She is a Seventh Day Adventist Christian and loves people.”
Travis Turner is part of an ensemble cast starring in YTV’s new television series “Some Assembly Required” set to premiere on Monday, January 6th at 6:30 pm. Travis was born in Oliver, grew up in Penticton and graduated at high school in Wetaskiwin.
