Report of a serious accident Friday just off Black Sage Road when a female driver of a lawn tractor with trailer jack-knifed while proceeding down an icy driveway.
Fire crews and EMS staff responded to the call to 4891 Black Sage Rd. just after 12:30 p.m.
The driver was stabilized and taken first to Oliver’s General Hospital and then transported to Penticton with a broken collar-bone.
Bonnie White was then transported back to Oliver’s hospital staying over night on doctor’s orders.
The story from Al White: “wife Bonnie was driving and I was sitting in the back spreading salt as we came down the hill, the tractor began to slide and the trailer disengaged throwing me in the snowbank but the tractor headed toward the hedge and turned onto its side”.
Bonnie hit the pavement hard and lost a fair amount of blood with medical staff concerned so that x-rays and a CT scan were required. White said his wife will have to be in a sling for 4 to 6 weeks.
