The Eastlink curling Centre was the site for the 11th annual interclub bonspiel, pitting 8 rinks from Oliver against 8 visiting rinks from the International Curling Club in Osoyoos December 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Oliver rinks fared very well, with the Gary Guraliuk rink taking first place overall with 25 out of a maximum 30 points scored. Gary’s lead was Barb Barley, second was Wayne Danbrook and third Murray Naugler. Gary said ‘Barb played exceptionally well, the whole team made shots when we had to and I’m so proud of my rink’.
Finishing in second place for the Oliver contingent was the Ross Jewell rink, with Randy Gushulak at lead, Ken Powell at second and third Fernando Anjos. The Gerry Short rink gave a credible performance in placing first for Osoyoos and Jerry Chamberlain’s rink came second. Most important of all, everyone enjoyed the event and Osoyoos is looking forward to hosting the return engagement next year.
