A 2009 Dodge Ram 150 pick up was heading southbound Wednesday on Channel Parkway when it missed the turn and went about 100 feet out in the lake. Apparently it escaped major damage by not hitting concrete but going through a wire fence/gate and into the water near the river exit into Skaha Lake.
When the police arrived on scene, after getting the 8:15 pm call, they found the male driver and female passenger both on shore.
They were safe and treated on the scene by paramedics.
The couple were not impaired, but it is believed the vehicle was going too fast and driver inattention could be a factor.
An investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
