The government of BC likes labour stability and has engaged with the BCGEU and other unions to strike a deal that will affect 26 thousand people and last until March 31 2019.

Community health workers will receive 5.5% over five years – 15000 workers

Social services workers will receive 4% over five years but any position comparable to the sector will involve some form of parity – 11000 workers in BC

The unions and government seem happy with the deal.
