SORCO Executive Manager Lauren Meads delivers X-ray machine to its new home.
An outdated portable X-ray machine and incubator from the Penticton and Oliver Hospitals have been donated to the South Okanagan Rehabilitation Centre for Owls (SORCO). The equipment will assist with the care of injured and ill birds of prey and will be housed in the new clinic currently being built. SORCO would like to thank Interior Health for supporting the mission of the Rehab Centre by helping local birds of prey.
To complement the X-ray machine, SORCO is looking for additional donations to help develop the images, especially digitally.
This is the only such facility in the Central and South Okanagan. Wildlife populations continue to compete with the encroachment of development and the work of SORCO provides a fundamental element in the conservation of these unique species.
