Received an interesting phone call from a person (not identified) at 2:48 pm Saturday – recorded and saved on my message service.
She did not leave a number or a name.
The lady swore a great deal of the time which diminished the importance of her criticisms.
She indicated I was juvenile and highly opinionated and quick to rebut others with dissimilar views and that was unfair in her view.
The lady left me thinking I was not doing a great job in pleasing her even though she seemed to read the blog a lot – and liked the up-to-the-minute content sometimes not found elsewhere.
She didn’t like some of the regular features and article writers and kept saying “shut the frick up” or words not for the ears of children.
I just wanted my readers to know I always print strong views on all sides of many issues.
Yes I do have my opinions and whenever possible try to add to the conversation and not put anyone down.
I invite that person to write an intelligent version of her complaint without the swear words and I will print it.
I think phoning from a blocked phone number is juvenile at best – cowardly is closer to my true feelings.
Maybe I am wrong – I do believe that your views and mine need to be tested. We do not live in a world where your idea or opinion alone has value. The blog is open to all – has very few rules.
A word to the wise – the number of people reading ODN is on the rise – I sincerely ask that if you don’t like it – move on – there are millions of sites in the world but only one Oliver Daily News.
