Two senior manager with Interion Health assured RDOS directors in Penticton that the new $300 million hospital tower’s Business plan is proceeding as plan.
Lori Motluk, Health Services Administrator for the South Okanagan and Capital Projects Manager Norma Malanowich told directors – the Business plan should be complete by spring with nothing but positive thoughts behind it.
Motluk says a great Business Plan is needed and all user groups are doing their utmost to bring together the most progressive ideas from around the country.
On December 13th MLAs in the region including Linda Larson of Oliver and Dan Ashton of Trout Creek will gather with local civic hospital advisors to push the project along. The civic group is made up of Mayor Ron Hovanes, Mayor Garry Litke and Mayor Janet Perrino.
The first estimate on the tower was $275 million but Perrino, Chair of the RDOS Hospital
District states that it will most likely increase as full completion won’t be for five years.
One question: Is the project scalable if the government doesn’t want to spend that much? The plan would first be designed as a complete project with provisions that it could be built incrementally.
The RDOS and its directors indicate the expectation is for an announcement to proceed from the BC Government once the Business Plan is complete by March 31st.
