On November 11, 2013 a local Taxi driver had his cell phone stolen by his fare. Quick intervention by the Regional GIS members resulted in recovery of the item and the identification of the thief. Unfortunately no charges will be proceeded with as a result of this investigation.
On November 12, 2013 the Oliver Detachment received a report of tools, such as: an impact wrench, cordless drill and an air-chuck from a compressor from a local storage unit. No suspects are identified in this theft as yet.
On November 12, 2013 a resident in the 6000 Block of Hollow Street, Oliver reported the theft from her garage of a child’s bike, a small compressor and a 75 ft extension cord. These items have since been recovered however, no charges will be considered in this investigation.
On November 12, 2013 a local business owner reported the theft of a silver Acer laptop computer valued at five hundred dollars. Investigation has confirmed the identity of the male suspect, who is well known to police. An application for an Arrest Warrant is being made and efforts will continue to recover the property.
On November 14th 2013 at 16:09 Hrs the Oliver RCMP attended to a motor vehicle accident on Sumac Street where a Semi pulling a trailer heading Southbound on Sumac Street attempted to turn across a small bridge heading southbound on Road #3 when the rear driver-side tire caught the railing tearing it off the posts. Argo road maintenance contacted to tend to removed railing; traffic cones placed on bridge until repairs are able to be made however, the bridge is still functional.
