Three trucks, three crews called to a home on Fairview Road west of Dividend Street.
Smoke in the attic of this late sixties built home (1000 block Fairview Rd – formerly owned by Bob and Arvie).
Call at 1:40 pm – Fire Department at the scene 40 minutes. Fire in chimney extinguished.
Slow burning – source FireRescue1.com
Not all chimney fires are visible from the exterior. Some are slow-burning fires, lacking the levels of air or fuel found in the large, eye-catching visible fires. But even these have high temperatures that can cause as much damage to the chimney structure and nearby combustible parts of the house as more dynamic fires.
