The Mixed Bonspiel attracted 16 teams to Oliver over the weekend, with people coming from as far away as Richmond.   Richmond’s Bob Smail team, with Sylvia Murray from Oliver playing third, actually won the A event and took home the top cash prize, got their name on the trophy, and won the 50/50 draw prize the night before.  They will almost certainly be back next year.  The John Dingman team from Osoyoos, after getting thrashed by George Hagel in the first game, went on to win the B event.  And the George Hagel rink (from Oliver), after thrashing Dingman, lost a game, dropped to the C Event and went on to win that.  All three teams will have their names on the First Annual Eastlink Challenge trophy sponsored by PRJ Contracting of Oliver – thank you Paul and Gail!
