School Trustees were told Wednesday that a December 14th – official opening of SOSS will have to be delayed – the first date set being a bit too optimistic.

Superintendent Bev Young says the school construction is on track for completion at Christmas but the 9 million dollar theatre complex has a lot of work to be done from seating, curtain raising, sound  and lighting equipment installation etc.

Better to wait and have ensured success.

The date in February will be announced later when one is established and official invitations sent. Capacity is an issue as 600 plus people attended the soft opening over the course of a few hours September 19th.

It is likely there will be an “official” opening venue – theatre or gymnasium and then tours over a longer period of time – most likely on a Saturday to allow for more people to attend.
