Received an inquiry today as to why there is no Missing Persons stories on ODN.

Today is a good example, again, of various media putting up an item on a missing lady from Summerland and that person an adult is located or reports in before the ink is dry.

A child missing locally with a full search on is a different matter. Thankfully this does not happen or if it does – it’s rare.

I am just not sure I want to get into the adult missing business for a number of reasons:

1. adults often have made their own choice as to where they are going

2. others maybe looking for them for their own reasons

3. most children missing are with a relative

4. I think you and I are intelligent enough to know the difference when their is a true emergency unfolding in front of us.

Everyday I see another person missing on Facebook or some internet media and if I wait – there it is – police discover whereabouts of “missing person”.
