Do you have any unused adult bikes? How about donating them to someone who requires a bike in order to access education, health care, jobs, and tasks essential to the survival and success of one’s family and community?
Oct. 18 and 19, you can drop off an adult bike at Christ the King Church (6044 Spartan St Oliver BC). If you need bikes to be picked up, contact Dale Dodge at 250-498-4014 or the parish office at 250-498-3934. If you do not have a bike you can make a cash donation, as the cost to ship a bicycle is about $30.
“Bicycles for Humanity” is a project aimed at collecting bikes for people in developing countries. As a nurse who visited West Africa last spring, I and my fellow nurses saw how a bicycle can be used in many ways – as a way to get to work, as the school bus, the town taxi, the mail delivery service… even as the ambulance!
