Principal Marcus Toneatto in the SOSS library presenting the Governor General’s Bronze Award to 2013 grad Anmol Dhaliwal for academic excellence.
Anmol, the top SOSS student last year, is taking a Chemistry Engineering degree at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops.
She was home today to visit parents on Thanksgiving break.
Congratulations Anmol.
The Governor General’s Academic medal is awarded only for academic excellence at four levels:
• Bronze at the secondary level;
• Collegiate Bronze at the post secondary, diploma level;
• Silver at the undergraduate level, and;
• Gold at the graduate level.
The Governor General’s Academic Medal was first awarded in 1873 by the Earl of Dufferin, and has since become one of the most prestigious awards that a student in a Canadian educational institution can receive. The Bronze medal is awarded to the student who achieves the highest average upon graduation from a secondary school.
