The Challenge Penticton board has parted ways with two top employees.

Contracts for GM Barb Haynes and Race Director Laura Carleton were not renewed for the 2014 event.

Race Society President Paulette Rennie says  theorganization is restructuring.

“We were thrilled with the work that the staff and the hundreds of volunteers did. Having said that, once we start planning for 2014 we have to look at where we can make improvements,” says Rennie.

“We’ve come to the decision that we need to make a change in our organizational structure and that includes looking at staff with specific skills to manage specific work streams, rather than just one general management position trying to manage across the organization.”

Rennie mentioned sponsorship, media, marketing, race logistics and merchandise as some of the specific work streams involved in Challenge Penticton.
