On September 26th 2013 Oliver RCMP received a silver folding knife with wooden handle that had the following engraving “Compliments of XXXXX TRUCKING LTD” on the handle. The owner can claim this property by attending to the Oliver Detachment and identifying the name of the trucking limited.
On September 30, 2013 and Oliver resident, residing in the 5000 block of Dividend Street, reported that his red 2009 Honda Quad was stolen from his driveway sometime overnight. The culprits cut the four straps that held the quad on the trailer that it was on, as well as winch cable that was attached to the trailer and removed it from the yard through the backyard on the south side of the residence. The quad had a black tool box attached to the rear containing an air compressor and bear spray, two gun racks and a piece of lexan plastic on the front rack. On September 30, 2013 a Oliver resident residing in the 200 block of Circle Drive, Oliver BC reported the overnight theft of two iPods, a hunting knife and a hunting bag were taken from his unlocked truck.
On October 03, 2013 the Oliver Detachment received two reports thefts from two gated and fenced compounds in the 5800 block of Cessna Street. The culprits stole a number of small items from both a Search & Rescue trailer and the Air Cadet hanger. On October 5th 2013 an Oliver business owner called to report the overnight break enter and theft from a trailer parked at the rear of his business. The culprits stole a cash box containing a small amount of cash. Access was gained through the use of bolt cutters. No identifiable property was stolen. The Oliver Detachment wishes to remind our residents of the need to lock their vehicles. Review of local theft from vehicle files represent that the vehicles were left ‘unlocked’. Although there are some thieves who will break glass to enter your vehicle, the majority of them do not want to draw attention their way by making noise. Please lock your vehicles when they are left unattended.
