Driving home from Twin Lakes yesterday I counted six dead snakes on the pavement.

These critters are out to warm up on the pavement, and are getting squashed by cars.  Here’s a picture of a healthy specimen, I moved him off the road before he could join his fellow snakes.  There were gopher snakes, garter snakes, and a rubber boa on that road.

Please try to avoid these animals as they do a lot to keep our pest population in check, and we’ll all benefit.
