Dialogue – when people are chatting, arguing, discussing issues.

I appreciate all comments but some rules need to apply:

You must use first and last names

When someone is using two emails, two names etc. – you will be admonished.

I prefer the word “discretion” when it comes to the amount of posting each person does. I had a conversation with a number of people in the last month – a bit testy at times – but they have not left us. I had contacted them about the frequency of posting as in how many items do you really need to comment on to get your fix each day.

In this matter I would urge “discretion” and I will  remove some comments that don’t fit. It is NOT me disagreeing with your comment and then eliminating. Far from that. Disagreement allows debate. Good.

Free speech to me is your right to go to Lion’s Park at noon and talk to a tree. You don’t have complete freedom to write as many letters to the editor of any newspaper nor should you think your rights are greater than any other.

Fairness.

“Discretion” in some ways defies definition.

When I see the comments column I like to see lots of different individuals rather than a lot  of opinions from a few people. I really don’t want a fight over this issue. I think ODN has grown and matured.
