Museum training session –
Muriel Carbiener (2nd from right) from Bend, Oregon training staff and volunteers at the Oliver Museum in techniques of cleaning, dating, and preserving clothing from more than a 100 years for future viewing.
Carbiener is a volunteer textile conservation specialist and Oregon Trail aficionado.

The dress being worked on was a “presentation gown” from the early part of the last century (British) recovered from Fairview. This type of dress complete with a train was for formal presentations in front of royalty.
