Earlier we told you that Tinhorn/Miradoro Restaurant had received a new license for alcohol sales.
Sunday September 22
An Oliver restaurant on a vineyard has been granted a Food-Primary License opening the doors for others to follow.
Miradoro Restaurant at Tinhorn received the new license recently that will allow guests to enjoy BC beer and spirits alongside local regional wines.
The first beer that will be featured is from the award-winning Firehall Brewery.
Area C Director Allan Patton said this morning he was not aware of this decision and says that the whole matter must come back to the Regional Board.
Patton says the Liquor Control Board can grant a license but the Regional District has jurisdiction over zoning and the land is in the ALC, zoned agriculture and therefore non-farm products are not to be sold.
Exactly when this matter comes back to the board and when local beer/spirits can be sold at wineries is still up in the air.
