Every Tuesday Morning from September to June, Oliver Artists have been meeting for over 50 years to paint, critique each others work, share ideas and just get together to have tea and great conversations. Come see what is happening in the amazing artistic community of Oliver and participate in making art. It is very good for the brain!
As well as a large studio space to work in, the Sagebrusher provide workshops from visiting artists like oil painter Robert Wood, watercolourist Larry Jackson and also from the amazing talent within the group members. Bev Alexander starts the year off with a workshop on abstract art.
Critiquing is a very important part of the art process.
Founding member Agnes Sutherland loves the antics of the younger artists like Tanya planning to paint her, and not on canvas!
Fearless leader Sally Franks, always on hand to encourage the artists! The works of the Sagebrushers can be seen at The Quails Roost Gallery and the Fall Art Show and Sale open to the public, Saturday 3-9pm, Oct 5, reception 7-9pm at the Oliver Community Centre and The Festival of the Grape 12 – 5pm, Sunday Oct 6.
