B.C. NDP Leader Adrian Dix has announced that he is stepping down pending a leadership vote by mid-2014.
Dix told reporters he must take responsibility for the party’s devastating election loss in May, a vote the NDP was widely expected to win.
“It has become clear to me that the best interests of our party mean that I need to step aside for a new leader who can lead us to victory,” Dix stated today
