Sept 21st is the day to vote for your new council member. I have a lot to offer this council and I feel I would be a good balance. Sustainability is what I am standing for. We need to grow at a pace that works for small town rural B.C.. Growth is a good thing it just needs to be balanced.
I have heard a lot about the 250 families that will come to Oliver. I do not believe we will have that many. My hope is that some members of this community and the First Nation community will get those jobs. I have had a chance to talk with some friends that work in corrections B.C.. Some of them say they do not want to live in the community where the prison is located, because of safety for their family. We need to show them that we care about this and we are going to make changes to improve safety in our community.
Oliver has a lot to offer and we need to show case this all over Canada and beyond. It is our responsibility as members of this community to step up and make this a place we are proud of. We can all do this by taking pride in the place we call home.
As women running for council I encourage all women to get out and Vote Sept 21st. Not always have women had the right to vote and we must continue to ad vacate for our rights as women.
Vote Rhonda Bruce for your voice!
