On September 3rd, 2013, Police received a report that early that morning a thief had stolen items from his truck parked on the 7800 Block of Cottonwood Dr. One of the items stolen was a reloadable Tim Hortons card. The owner of the card determined that his card had been used at the Osoyoos Tim Hortons. Police obtained video from Tim Hortons and on Sep 5th, a 38 year old Osoyoos man who is well known to Police was arrested for possessing and using the stolen card. A bail hearing was held and the man was released on several conditions including a curfew until he appears in court to answer to the criminal charge.
On September 4th, the Osoyoos RCMP located and arrested a 25 year old man who was wanted by the Vernon RCMP for Assault with a Weapon and Possessing a Weapon Dangerous to Public Peace. This is the same man who is being charged by the Osoyoos RCMP for possessing a stolen license plate Sept. 1st, 2013.
On September 5th, Police were advised that overnight a Devinci Hucker baby blue bicycle had been stolen off a third floor balcony.
On September 5th, 2013 at 7:00 pm, Police responded to a report that a male with black/grey long curly hair, black jacket and blue shorts had just attempted to steal a red 2013 Honda CRF-250 motorcycle that was parked outside of the Home Hardware Building Center in Osoyoos. A witness saw the man walking the bike down 78th Ave towards the Catholic Church where the motorcycle was left and the suspect departed in a an older beige square looking minivan. Police made patrols looking for the suspect vehicle but did not find it. The motorcycle was returned to the owner.
On September 7th, 2013, a Police officer on patrol checked a male on a flat black Devinci 10 speed men’s mountain bike on 87th Ave and Main St. The 30 year old Osoyoos man was arrested on an outstanding warrant for a Theft in Penticton. The bike was seized as the man could not prove ownership. If anyone has information on the possible owner of this bicycle please contact the Osoyoos RCMP.
On September 8th, 2013, at 11:30 pm, Police were dispatched to a suspicious occurrence at 9200 Hwy 97. A resident heard banging by some parked vehicles for sale along the road. 2 men were seen with a grey Dodge truck with a black roll bar. The men fled the area before the Police arrived and found a trailer at the scene had the door pried open. Police looked for the suspect dodge truck but were not able to find it.
