About 3 yesterday afternoon the local airport had to be closed down briefly as a plane had landed at the north end of the runway – without landing gear engaged doing most of the damage to the prop.

The flyer from the coast says a new prop would have to be shipped from Germany to replace the damaged one.

After the mishap a local towing company was used to raise the plane off the tarmac to engage the wheels. No one was injured.
