Oliver Parks & Recreation would like to thank everyone for a fantastic season at the Oliver Pool! It was wonderful to see so many out enjoying the water on hot days, taking part in Aquafit classes and learning how to swim and be safe in the pool. The Sun Fun Day Camp program also wrapped up one of the best summers yet last week with the “Best of the Best” theme. Our camp staff wish everyone a great year at school and say see you next summer!
Our fall Recreation Guide is now available online at www.oliverrecreation.ca or in hard copy at our Recreation office, copies were mailed out to Oliver and Area C residents last week as well. There is something for everyone in the guide from fitness classes to family special events to new programs for children and youth.
Programs and events kick off next week with Family Fun Night on Thursday Sept 12. From 5-7pm families are invited to come down to CommunityPark (NE section just below the hospital beside the Portuguese Club) to celebrate the start of the season with a night of games, beach volleyball, bocce and a BBQ! Also that night, Edward Jones is sponsoring a free night of Yoga in the Park from 6:45-8pm at the Community Bandshell led by yoga instructor Hayley Stopa.
