The Town of Oliver is still proceeding with water sampling in order to get three (3) clean consecutive water samples in a row. Each sample takes three to four days to get the results back from an analytical laboratory. The Town sampled on Monday August 19th and will continue to do so until the 22nd. If everything goes well, we will know the results by the following Tuesday and will consult with Interior Health to see if the Notice requires to stay on or can be terminated at that point. If any samples come back with positive bacteria hits, then the Town would be on a BWN for another week minimum.
*A high turbidity level may impair the effectiveness of the disinfection treatment system. If disinfection is impaired, disease-causing microorganisms may survive in the water distribution system resulting in an increased risk of intestinal illness. People with undeveloped or severely weakened immune systems, infants and elderly may be at increased risk.
*Water users are advised to bring all water to a rolling boil for at least one minute and let it cool before using it or, use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and food preparation until further notice. We will inform you when you no longer need to boil your water.
