New Principal Barton Tumlinson with current V/P Karen Sinclair at Oliver Elementary.
Mr. Tumlinson replaces Mike Safek who returns to Osoyoos Secondary as Principal.
Barton Tumlinson says he is looking forward to starting the new term with first priority getting to know students, teachers and support workers.
He says it’s his job to bring forward the best learning environment for students – a welcoming school, where everyone is known and access to resources is stressed. There are 315 students, 17 teachers and about 10 Education Assistants at OES.
Barton Tumlinson comes to us from a V/P position in Keremeos – that job 4 years. He was born in Salmon Arm and lives in Penticton. He has been in education for a total of 16 years with 5 years in school administration south of the border.
