Former head of BCFGA charged
The former head of the BC Fruit Growers’ Association is expected to appear in a Kelowna Courtroom Tuesday.
Kirpal Boparai is charged with uttering threats and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose – believed to be a shovel.
Police were called, Boparai, it is reported made several calls to the residents from the back of a police car.
Boparai replaced Joe Sardinha as president of the tree fruit association in 2012, however, he stepped down after less than a year in that post following a series of disputes with the Okanagan Tree Fruit Cooperative.
