On August 13th at approximately 8:20 am, Police, Ambulance, and Anarchist Mountain Fire Department responded to a report of a motorcycle accident on Highway 3 at the first switchback on Anarchist Mountain. The 61 year old man from Edmonton had lost control at low speed and crashed into the concrete barrier. He was ejected over the barrier into a small ravine. The man was rescued from ravine and transported to hospital for treatment of an injured knee and hand.
On August 14th, 2013, at approximately 11:40 pm, an RCMP Officer on patrol stopped a Dodge Ram truck behind the Shell Gas Station and found the driver to be prohibited from driving. The 26 year old female who is well known to Police recently moved to Osoyoos and was arrested and released for Driving While Prohibited and will appear in court at a later date. The truck was impounded by Police.
On August 16th, 2013, Osoyoos RCMP officers conducted an ATV patrol on Anarchist Mountain and dismantled an outdoor marihuana grow operation located on Crown Land. A large number of mature marihuana plants were seized.
There were a number of thefts reported over the last week; – Thieves targeted a travel trailer that was in storage in a fenced compound off Lakeshore Drive. The door was pried open and a television and golf clubs were stolen. – August 12th, campers at Haynes Point found thieves had stolen a Connelly Fat Boy water ski. – August 13th, boaters found and Audison Amplifier had been stolen from their boat which had been moored to a buoy in front of Island View Resort. – August 16th, a lime green Harrow 400.1 BMX Bike was stolen from the Richter Pass Motel.
