Ministry of Forests’ attack crews on the ground will tend a grass and scrub bush fire 5 miles west of Osoyoos on the Richter Pass (Hwy 3) up the hill from Spotted Lake overnight.

Bombers (tankers) did a great job wetting the area around homes and getting to the heart of the fire. One helicopter was dumping water at last light. Up to 30 crews members working on the 12 hectare blaze.

No known cause. No injuries. First reported around 5pm

Some homes evacuated early but returned for the night.
