Now you might ask what in the world do these pictures have to do with the weighted vote system at the RDOS.
The first picture is a sign (Government of BC) stating that this road is closed and only open for traffic at the pleasure of the Ministry of Environment. This is the actual area to be funded for maintenance. (see earlier story)
The PIB has a person clean up the path on a contract valued at $40 thousand. This is not a regional trail system segment. It connects to nothing. It goes from the SS Sicamous area (dam) at south end of Okanagan Lake to the Skaha Beach area.
It is in Penticton and the weighted voted made it mandatory for people in Princeton and Anarchist Mtn to pay for it.
Shame. This is not a $$$ issue this is a principle. Look after your own backyard.
Municipal councils and all jurisdictions should make their views known to local MLA’s and the Government of BC.
