Tradewinds owner and landlord Gus Kirsch cuts poles off and installs fencing panels Saturday.
Kirsch told ODN he is glad tenants are not protesting this time. He says the fence is to demarcate his property line and will not obscure the view or impede access to the lake. He says mobile parks are fenced as a routine matter.
The owners have a different view according to Tenant Association President Brian Wensley.
Wensley say Kirsch has invented all the reasons for the fence – first to protect against snow, then to establish a property line and others.
Kirsch told ODN today his reason is to ask the government for permission to buy the beach foreshore so that his property is big enough for three more units which would make the park viable.
Wensley says the tenants have been in constant communication with the landowner but this latest action will most likely result in a legal action through the Tenancy Act as arbitration seems to be the only way to get a legal and enforceable decision.
