The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen is advising all residents to take extra precaution with their pets and small children following the unlawful removal of a seized dog from a pound in Osoyoos sometime Thursday.
A male American Pit Bull Terrier, disappeared from a locked animal control facility sometime between 3 and 5:30 p.m. Signs of forced entry were apparent.
The dog was involved in an earlier incident at the facility that resulted in the death of another dog.
The Regional District has notified local RCMP of the dog’s removal. Bylaw authorities in adjacent jurisdictions have also been notified.
