An area around the Hollow Street Project will experience a water shut-off for a good portion of the day on Friday August 16th which will include some businesses unfortunately.
It is scheduled to be off between the hours of 7am to 7pm but we are hoping it won’t take that long.
The reason for the shut-down is the due to some new water mainline pipe being incorporated into the domestic water system from the upgrades that are happening in the project. Some will experience more shut downs in the future when more pipe and services are tied back into the system but notices will be handed out again . The reason we are shutting down such a large area is due to the failing of some shut off valves on the existing main line water system infrastructure. With the new infrastructure going in, more shut off valves are incorporated in the design thus shutting off less properties in the future when fixes or upgrades are required. Property owners may need to run a bit of water, after the tie-ins, to clear any sediment stirred up during the process.
