Universal Packaging Inc Announces $1.2 million Investment in Vernon, B.C. Plant
Steve Pelkey, CEO of Universal Packaging Inc, is pleased to announce the completion of a $1.2 million investment in its Vernon, B.C. plant. Universal Packaging recently commissioned a new decorating machine from Italy and a new Lehr from Germany. Last year, the company added 6,000 square feet to its Vernon warehouse.
In making this announcement, Pelkey states “Universal Packaging is the largest decorator of glass bottles in North America. We have been screen printing bottles in Vernon, B.C. since 1985. We are very proud of our Okanagan Valley roots and this investment shows that we are committed to our incredible employees and the province of B.C. We are particularly happy that we have been hiring people because it helps the overall B.C. economy.”
Pelkey goes on to say “the new machines will increase our capacity by a minimum of +50%. This will greatly enhance our ability to service our customers throughout B.C. and the Pacific Northwest. It will result in faster turnarounds for our customers. It will also allow us to improve upon our industry leading quality. B.C.’s Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries are world-class so it is only fitting that Universal Packaging continues to invest in world-class equipment and people to better serve our customers.”
Universal Packaging is located in Vernon B.C. where it operates a 50,000 square foot decorating plant and warehouse.
