February 4, 1953 – August 6, 2013
It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of Bernie & Diane Lee on August 6, 2013 in Osoyoos.
Bernie & Diane are survived by family members including sisters: Barbara, Susan, Colleen (Mike) from Kitchener, Paul (Sheryl) from Vancouver, and their niece, Amanda and nephew, Donovan (Kitchener) and their goddaughters Sarah Keller (Dubai) and Kyra Cohen (Toronto). They also left behind their beloved dog, Zoe.
Diane, born in Kitchener, Ontario in 1953 was daughter of Norman & Bertha Hall (deceased) from New Brunswick. Bernie, born in 1934 in Winnipeg, Manitoba was the son of Mr. Lee of Hong Kong (deceased) and Dorothy Belinski of Winnipeg (deceased).
Bernie & Diane were married in Vancouver and had recently celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary.
They had many friends and colleagues in Osoyoos, Ontario, New Brunswick, and BC. They will be dearly missed by many including Brock & Cathie, Yvette & Peter, Kathy & Ron, Pat, Trish, Fran, Christine (Victoria), the Cohens (Toronto), and by their wonderful neighbours and friends at the White Sands.
Bernie worked as Financial Controller at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Vancouver for many years until he retired in 1999. Diane worked in the hotel and travel industry and was Operations Manager for Canada 3000 until she retired in 2003.
In June 2003, they moved to Osoyoos and were warmly welcomed by friends and by the community. In Osoyoos, Diane worked for Elections Canada and Elections BC and was a volunteer at the Osoyoos and District Museum and Archives. Bernie was also an active volunteer for various organizations in both Vancouver and Osoyoos.
Bernie & Diane requested no service but rather a celebration of their lives with their family and close friends in Osoyoos. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Osoyoos & District Museum and Archives, the SPCA or a charity of your choice.
Bernie & Diane will be forever in our thoughts and in our hearts. We will always remember their words…“Life is Good”.
